Looking Forward to the Weekend?

Friday, May 20, 2011

So with the end of the world, supposedly, tomorrow, we have to live a little.  I am so looking forward to the weekend.  I got my whole day planned out tomorrow, in case the end of the world really happens (ha!), I'm spending the day at Borders.  I'm excited.  Anyway, on to the awesome-ness that is Friday.  I mean, I get to participate in two awesome memes. Follow Friday from Parajunkee and Blogger Hop from Crazy-for-Books.com are Friday memes, a great way to make new friends. Here's the questions below:

It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you? We all have them...
  • I used to be fully obsessed with Twilight before the movie came out.  My room still appears in its aftermath- it's a Twilight tornado in there.
  • When buying books, I spend hours finding tons of books I want and finally get it down to two of them, then I have to ask a fellow customer which one they would buy because I just can't make the choice.  (I can't figure out if that's weird or just pathetic.)
  • I fear libraries.  I usually make a friend come in with me when I have to pick up books.  I just don't like how it's always so quiet in there-- everyone shh...ing everyone else.  It's not that I don't like being quiet ('cause I am terribly shy) but it's too quiet in there sometimes.
  • Gina is not my real name (wow, shocker, I know).  It's how you would pronouce my name but the spelling is something else entirely.
  • And I'm awesome and so are you.

If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?
I would love to visit the world in The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien:  Middle Earth.  I would love to just grab some supplies and a walking stick and travel to the Shire and Rivendell.  It would be so cool to see Frodo (love you!) and all the hobbits (where I've been told I would fit right in-- with my crazy short-ness and big feet).  And then in Rivendell, it would be like the ultimate vacation-- so relaxing and fantastic.

It's Friday!  Go out, have some fun!  Have a lovely weekend, guys!!

  1. Hi Gina!

I'm the same way with buying books. I'm in there for hours at a time, have an armload then leave with one after all that. Now that I have a reader, I just close my eyes and press the checkout button LOL

Thank you for the follow :)

  2. I wish I had your book buying problem! When I go to the bookstore, I usually have one or two books I'm looking for. But I start grabbing everything I see until my pile is too big to carry. And if I'm lucky and have a friend with me, they'll usually be able to make me put a couple back. But I still end up buying waaay more than I should. It's an expensive addiction!

  3. Ha! I love that you are afraid of libraries. You have great friends if they are willing to go with you. My friends would probably turn me down.

  4. Old follower hopping by to visit! I love libraries, but the uber-quitness can get a bit eerie. Great pick with Middle Earth! You can't go wrong entering a world with elves and swords. :-)

  5. Hopping through. I am still very Twilight obsessed, but I don't have much Twilight paraphernalia. Just calendars and a magnet.

  6. I love how quite libraries are, especially from the rush of what's going on with me! Hi! Just stopping by. Following you from the Feature and Follow Friday blog hop (finishing from last night!). Would love a follow back: blog.writerslairbooks.com. I also have twitter: @wlbks. Have a 'good read' weekend!

  7. I chose Hogwarts like everyone else because, well, who wouldn't want to visit there? Middle Earth would be cool, too. I could use a nice, quiet day in the Shire.

Glad to have found you via the Hop!
