Divergent Book Discussion (22)

Hey, people from Earth and other people who are not from here, for the next 6 weeks we will be giving you the awesomeness that is DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth. Be sure to show up, because we are giving away some goodies, check it out HERE. Just a side note, I will be asking a question after each discussion post. Be sure to follow the discussion and don’t be scared to join in on our discussion/ questions. Those who entered the contest will receive extra entries for answering a question. Every week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we will discuss three chapters per week: tell you about the plot, and other random bits of spicy goodness that you should definitely know about (all relating to Divergent). Just for your curiosity: helping me out with this discussion is Jackie, one of my best friends (please say hello to her). Basically these posts will be categorized by person. Jackie hasn't read the book so be sure to read her first impressions while she reads along and if you have read Divergent, be sure to read my input (this will be the my second read through). Four's Faith and Protection in Tris
D’awww! These two are so cute, even when Four tells Tris to ruin her attackers! I love that he has so much faith in Tris and her Divergent abilities. I mean the guy even gives her the idea of acting vulnerable against her enemies and competitors even though Tris hates this idea. At least Four is trying to help you Tris, lighten up. I guess I do understand where she is coming from though, if I were a Dauntless, I really would not want to pretend to be vulnerable to my other competitors, and ESPECIALLY my enemies. Anyway, I find Four’s faith in Tris very cute and endearing, and I think his help will help her to pass and survive the initiation process.
OH MY GOSHLINESS!!! I’m very happy that Four found Tris before those people did anything more to her. I love how much care four shows for Tris when he wants to report the incident and make sure that she is okay. Also, I though Four’s anger over the boys almost “touching” Tris was priceless. I mean, the guy is not even dating Tris, but he is flipping out over the possibility that those guys were about to “touch”her. Since she could have been raped I probably should not say I found Four’s reaction funny, but rather…I don’t know….cute I guess? Ew, I hate using that word…but anyway, I thought that Four’s care and protection of Tris was really kind of him, and maybe showed Tris how much he cares for her. That way she can catch the hint that he like-like’s her, and we can set sail for this ship.
This is a very short chapter but short is all I need for all the Tris and Four moments. They are so cute together. I don't have much to say except that I love this couple so much.
We get to see the inside of his room. I think there is a later chapter that has Tris mention how the walls are blank, except here we get a glimpse of the words "Fear God Alone" on a white wall. I just imagine the message written like finger paint across the white wall, a remainder done in haste. How about you guys?
